Chris Barclay (partner)
Graduating from Bates College in Maine with a B.A in Asian Studies, Chris has been the Head Coach/CEO at ALTEC Training Centres since 1995. He spent one year studying at the Beijing Language and Culture University with a Chinese langrage focus. Since then he has accumulated over ten years experience in China in the President of the Guangzhou American Chamber of Commerce. His love of nature, adventure sport and the Chinese countryside is what originally inspired him to open a Retreat in Yangshuo.
Shelly Chen (partner)
Originally an English teacher at the Yangshuo Tourism Vocational School, Shelley later became the principal at Yangshuo Middle Shool. Her twenty years plus experience in the education sector was rewarded with a deputy position. Also the owner of the Riverside Retreat at Gaotian Bridge.

Yet another member of staff with good restaurant experience,

Xiao Wu (Housekeeper)
Living close by in strangely named Qi Qiu Xu Village, you are
quite likely to pass her house as you walk up to the water wheel.
Terry Yo (chef)
A Yangshuo native. Yet another New Century Hotel old hand,
He is always aware of his guests special needs. No matter
whether you are vegetarian, fruitarian or even Rotarian, he will
quickly be able to serve up something delicious for you.
